May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].
May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! ~Ephesians 3:16-19
I live very close to a place know for some of the biggest trees in the world. The picture above has not been Photoshopped and isn't even close to one of the biggest trees in this beautiful and amazing park.
It's one of my all time favorite places to visit in the summer and I never loose the awe of what my eyes look upon. This place holds something special, something I have a hard time putting into words. It almost feels like you walk into another world. Your mind has a hard time wrapping around, that what you are seeing... is real.
Wouldn't it be amazing to be so rooted in love like these strong, tall, trees? These trees are so strong that even great fires, wind, and lightning have a had time destroying them. God's love can not be measured, nor counted. It is beyond our ability to sum it up, yet always within our reach, to grab, hold, and have...
This, my friend, is a WONDERFUL comparison! :) Yes, I want my love to be this way. Also...this is the Redwood Forest, isn't it???
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a kind comment B.L.S. I really enjoyed writing this post. This forest is actually called Big Trees Park and is located south of Lake Tahoe and north of Yosemite in central California. Not near the coast like the Redwood Forest is :-) This park isn't as well know as the Redwood Forest, which kinda makes it even more special. If you ever get the chance to be in central California, for sure visit this beautiful place.
