Day 153: Camp-Nanowrimo...

Today was the first day for Campnanowrimo. I've have tried to do Nanowrimo in November a few times, but horribly failed... like it only lasted a week. For those of you wondering what Nanowrimo is, it's a crazy fun thing for writers where you have a BIG, yet possible goal of writing a book in one month. There is a catch though, the book must be at least 50,000 words(approximately 175 page) novel. Yes, 50,000 words in 30 days!

This time I'm going to try to succeed and if you're a writer feel free to join me... they also do one in July.
Here is my account so you can follow my progress (if you want.)

This is the first time I'm working on a novel different form my beloved book, The Realm of Hearts. And it's a way different genre... Steampunk. (Now that's an odd word)

If you are a fellow Nanowrimo please give me some tips, because I'm going to need them.

  1. I'm doing Camp Nanowrimo too, writing a zombie apocalypse novel. At this point I'm only 2334 words behind.

I've never won a Nano or come close, so I don't have any real tips, but I do have the book 'No Plot, No Problem!' by the founder of Nano, Chris Baty, and it's kind of inspirational.

And I guess I do have one tip--- keep a baby name book and a phone book close-to-hand to name characters on-the-fly. You can always change the names to the perfect ones in the second draft.
